Gtelecom Australia has been operating wireless networks on Australian Military bases for use by service men and women. This has required us to work closely with the Defence Forces and the Department of Finance to structure an arrangement to install and operate telecommunications networks on base.
Base management generally recognises that the market for defence personnel and civilian workers is competitive and and keen to see that the service levels on base are as high as reasonably possible.
What are Gtelecom Australia' Military Base Solutions?
Broadly, Gtelecom Australia will deploy a WiFi network through the accommodation and/or approved areas of the base and deliver economical fast broadband Internet services to the users. The network is deployed at Gtelecom Australia' cost, and Gtelecom Australia pays a commission that can be used by the messes to increase service levels to base personnel. With the support of the base management Gtelecom Australia enters into a supplementary agreement with the Department of Finance to place its equipment on Government property.
What is the process involved?
The first step is for Gtelecom Australia to visit the base with the local management, identifying the buildings that management have an interest in covering. Gtelecom Australia also presents the details of its commercial model to management so that they have a clear understanding of what is being offered. Next Gtelecom Australia will develop a clear proposal for what it would intend to do, presuming base go-ahead. At this stage, if the proposal is satisfactory, Gtelecom Australia and the base will jointly take the proposal for approval in Canberra. Once the approval has been obtained, Gtelecom Australia can deploy its network and commence offering services.
We are currently in discussions with a number of additional bases. If you, or your base have an interest Gtelecom Australia' military base solutions, please call us on 1300 659 442.
